Privacy Policy

Speakly ("we", "us", "the app") is a product of Idraaka AI Labs. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This document explains what data the app collects, why, and your rights regarding it.

1. Data We Collect

AI chat: Messages you send to the AI tutor are transmitted to OpenRouter, which routes them to the underlying AI model provider (e.g., OpenAI). These messages may be processed outside Pakistan. Speakly does not store your chat history on our servers.

Local data: Saved phrases are stored exclusively on your device using an encrypted local database (AES-GCM via Android Keystore). They are never uploaded to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

Account management — to create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
Premium access — to verify your subscription status and unlock premium scenarios.
Product improvement — to understand which features are used most and where the app crashes.
Push notifications — to send practice reminders or important updates (you can disable these in device settings).
AI tutoring — to provide contextualised language conversation practice powered by large language models.

3. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. The following third-party services process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

All data transmitted between the app and these services is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.

4. Your Rights and Choices

Delete your account — in-app via Settings → Account → Delete account. Data is fully purged within 30 days of deletion.
Opt out of analytics — in Settings → Privacy → Analytics. This disables Firebase Analytics event reporting.
Disable push notifications — in your device's notification settings for Speakly.
Request data export or deletion by email — contact us at idraakai.labs@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

5. Data Retention

After account deletion, all identifiable data is purged from our systems within 30 days.

6. Security

All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Locally stored secrets and authentication tokens are protected using AES-GCM encryption via the Android Keystore.
We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

    Speakly is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
  

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at idraakai.labs@gmail.com. We will promptly delete that information from our records.

If you are under 13, please do not use Speakly or provide any information about yourself.

8. International Data Transfers

Speakly is operated by Idraaka AI Labs, based in Pakistan. By using the app, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States (where Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure is hosted) and other countries where our third-party service providers operate.

We ensure that appropriate contractual safeguards (such as data processing agreements) are in place with our service providers to protect your data during international transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email where required by applicable law.

Continued use of Speakly after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
